Meet Messy Nessy, aka Vanessa Crow

As far back as I can remember I have always loved to bake. Mom was always baking something sweet, from German Chocolate cake with homemade Coconut Pecan Frosting for my brother Tom’s birthday,

Vanessa CrowCarrot Cake for my Dad or Banana Pudding on any HOT Indiana August day; to a new recipe she’d clipped out of a magazine (no internet back then); there was always something sweet in the house, and I was always there helping; creaming the butter, adding the eggs and sugar, mixing it all up and licking the beaters afterwards.

I always dreamed of having my own bakery, even as I started and made a 20 year career of construction accounting, I always knew my true passion was in the kitchen. Making a mess turning out cakes, cookies, fudge and brownies that made my family and friends smile. Over the years, my passion for baking has only increased. I truly love to see people enjoying something I’ve baked for them. So, after 23 years of being cooped up in offices with small, or no windows at all, I’m trading in my accounting cap for a baker’s hat. I want to bless whoever I can with my delicious sweet treats. Be one.
